Ahmet and the STAR

Hello. My name is Ahmet. I am a little boy, and I live with my Mommy, Daddy, Granny and my pet dog Sami.

Sami and I have lots of exciting adventures together.

This is the story of one of my adventures when I went to find a shooting star that I saw in the sky.

Ахмет и звезда.

Привет. Меня зовут Ахмет. Я еще маленький озорной мальчишка. Живу я с мамой, папой, бабушкой и Самми. Самми – моя любимая собака. У нас с моим четвероногим другом было много приключений. А сейчас я вам расскажу, как однажды я искал волшебную звездочку, упавшую с неба.

Ahmet was sitting in his garden playing with his dog, and it was getting late in the day and the light was starting to fade. This made it all the more exciting when he saw a star suddenly fall out of the sky. Of course, stars don’t really fall out of the sky, but Ahmet was only a little boy and he did not know these things. A few minutes later he thought he saw some more stars also falling out of the sky.

He was so fascinated about these stars that he decided to lie down on his back and look up at the sky to see if he could see any more of these stars in the sky, and as he was lying there, he started to wonder about why they fall out of the sky, and where do they fall to?

There is only one way to find out he thought to himself, I can see they fell out of the sky behind that hill over there, and I want to go there and find them.

Однажды теплым вечером Ахмет сидел во дворе и играл с Самми. Когда в небе уже стали появляться первые робкие звёзды, а в окнах домов зажигаться огоньки, Ахмет заметил, что одна маленькая звездочка, сверкая и переливаясь, вдруг начала свой полет и упала на землю. От изумления мальчик подскочил.

Конечно же, звёзды не падают, но Ахмет был маленький и не знал об этом.

Мальчик был очарован! Волшебный полет яркой звезды так увлек его, что он лёг на спину и стал наблюдать за звездами. Он долго всматривался в ночное небо, а звезды сверкали, искрились, кружились в каком-то фантастическом танце, а некоторые из них, оставляя в небе яркий след, медленно падали за ближайший холм. Ахмет никак не мог наглядеться, лежал и удивлялся: почему же они падают с неба и куда исчезают потом? Ему очень захотелось найти их.

– Я знаю, что делать! – вдруг озарило его. – Если они упали за холм, то я могу их найти. Это же совсем близко! Я дойду до этого холма, найду и принесу домой звездочки.

“Ahmet come home it’s already too late. It will soon be bed time, time for your sleep”, he heard his Mommy calling him.

“Mommy, Mommy let’s go and fetch the stars from the sky, I saw where they fell, they are behind that hill over there”, he said pointing to the distance. He was telling his Mommy with excitement.

“No, no it’s too late Ahmet, and it’s time to get ready for bed. If you get too excited now you won’t be able to sleep’ his mother was telling him.

– Ахмет, сынок, иди домой, уже поздно! Тебе скоро спать ложиться! – вдруг мальчик услышал голос мамы.

– Мама, мама пойдём за звёздами, они упали прямо за тем холмом, я видел их, – и показывая в сторону холма, начал взахлёб рассказывать о том, что увидел несколько мгновений назад.
